The World in 1302

The Gods are Dead and Marcus Barton killed Them

OVERVIEW

The world at large is at peace in 1302 but tensions are rising. Marcus Barton and his Secularists are gaining power as more kingdoms fall under their sway while people loyal to the departed Gods attempt to build a coalition powerful enough to contain him. Peoples are finding new ways to live and govern without the Divine, former world powers are collapsing while new ones rise to replace them and the battle for worldwide influence is rapidly devolving into all-out war.

Two major forces are aligning against one another: The Saur'ton Alliance led by Marcus Barton and his home nation of Duliin and the Concord of Aman'ar, a mutual defense agreement signed by pro-religion kingdoms. The Alliance boasts the most powerful navies in the world and have outfitted their soldiers and sailors with some of the most technologically advanced weapons of the age. The Concordant states have more than twice the population of the Alliance and armies motivated by a sincere desire for revenge against Marcus Barton. Two of the great powers, Riellq on the continent of Amaliij and Buostawe on Mirya, have maintained their neutrality in the conflict.

Below are the entries for the current state of affairs in the major powers of the world divided by continent.
